This Week's Puzzler

Terrible Tune Up

Okay, everyone, it is puzzler time. And since we have had a few fun ones, I think it's time for a genuine automotive puzzler.

I was reminded of this puzzler because the seasons are changing and it is getting colder.

So, many years ago a customer had an issue with her old station wagon, an old Volvo, or something like that. A woman comes in and says, "My husband decided to tune up the family car. Since he tuned it up, the car has been terrible in the snow. Just terrible." She said, "I want you to check my snow tires. Must be there's something wrong with the tires now. There's too little air? I don't know, but I can no longer drive my car in the snow. I can't take off in the snow. But I also cannot stop the car in the snow. What's going on here? What did he do to my car?"

So that is the puzzler. What did her husband do to her car?

Good luck!

Remember last week's puzzler?

The New Old Puzzler

Okay, it is time for the new (old) puzzler. The one for kids 12 and under. Remember this?

This one is from last week. We gave the kiddos an extra week to figure it out. The kids went back to school this month, so they need a little more time.

And we need a little more time to come up with the next one!

Okay, here it is again. For the young and the young at heart. Here's the question. It's very simple.

What is it that you can see that you can put in a barrel that will make it lighter? To make it weigh less?

This is something you can put in the barrel and it will weigh less. Something you can see. So it's not like helium gas or white paint. That would make it whiter. That isn't what we mean. The answer is something that would make it weigh less.

What is it? We have been scratching the old noodle for about a week now over here. And remember, to answer this puzzler, you must be either 12 years old or younger, or you must have been accused by your spouse of acting like a 12 year old at least twice in the last week...

Good luck.
