This Week's Puzzler

Color of Cars

This one is a short, terse little puzzler from the archives of automotive history.

So, everyone knows this famous quote from Henry Ford. He said, "You can have any color of Ford you want, as long as it's black."

So the famous Henry Ford was known for being somewhat of a tightwad, among other things. He was also the father of the modern day assembly line. He did a lot in his time to help speed up production and make cars more widely available. But he was not known as a fun sort of guy. Took everything very seriously. Especially cars. He took cars very seriously because he was building cars for the whole country.

Henry Ford was known for selling cars, all of which were black. And the question very simply is, why did he choose black for the color of his cars?

And the obvious answer is that black was the cheapest paint, but that is not true. Black is not the cheapest paint.

So, what is the reason that Henry Ford chose black as the color of his cars?

Good luck.

Remember last week's puzzler?

Seven Letters

Here it is.

There is in the English language, a 7 letter word that contains 9 words without rearranging any of the letters.  So using pieces of the original word, without changing the placement of the letters, you can pull out 9 words.

So the original word has 7 letters, but there are 9 words buried in this 7 letter word.

For example, the word 'garbage'. This word contains these 3 words:

1. Garb

2. Bag

3. Age

So these small words are buried in that larger word. So that 7 letter word has 3 words in it, plus itself, that equals 4 words.

And the word we are looking for is a 7 letter word that has 9 words buried in it, including itself. There might even be more...

Now, there may be more than one of these words out there, but we are just looking for this one word.

Of course, we will accept any answer that works!
